A BIT ABOUT ME AND WHAT I OFFER

I’m a USA Cycling licensed Level 3 coach, and I'm also certified as a personal trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. As a cyclist, I enjoy road, gravel, and mountain biking. I've successfully completed numerous long-distance, 1 to 5 day events on the bike, plus a marathon, half-marathons, and other running events. I started this business because I really enjoy working with people to help them succeed. As an military veteran, I 'speak' the fitness test language and can help you overcome obstacles there, too.

I came into the 2021 season with one A-level race targeted...the Leadville Trail 100 mountain bike race (MTB). My preparation began in the fall of 2020 with Bruce building a focused strength & conditioning base schedule in preparation for a planned hernia surgery followed by eight weeks off the bike. We worked together to build a training and race plan that would interleave with my work schedule. That schedule included a linear periodization plan with two spring C-level MTB races, one B-level race in July (Leadville Silver Rush 50), mid-summer training at altitude in Colorado Springs for three weeks, training at altitude in Leadville for a week, back to Colorado Springs for a week, then back to Leadville for the 100 mile race week. My FTP in the spring was hanging around 215 watts and I was working towards a goal of 225 watts by race week in August. For six weeks I worked half days and used Bruce's training profiles as a lead-in to racing in mid-August. During our pre-race route reconnassaince, Bruce's knowledge of the Leadville course helped me find the lines I could navigate safely. We discussed race hydration & nutrition, power management, and weather contigencies. On race day there weren't any surprises. My goal was to finish under 12 hours (to get a silver belt buckle) and the training data supported that goal. I finished in 12 hours 54 minutes, missing the 12 hour cutoff for the buckle, but I did get a finisher's medal and checked off a major bucket list adventure. One major take away, my modeled FTP jumped from 225 watts pre-race to 251 watts post-race. I attribute that FTP jump to Bruce's training plan and some hard work on my part. BASIC COACHING PACKAGE

You're strongly self-motivated, you have an idea of what you want to accomplish, but you need a plan to get there! This service level begins with a 2-hour phone/video consult to talk about where you are and where you want to go. I'll build your plan and post it to your included premium TrainingPeaks account. You may initiate program clarifications via email to me, and I'll respond within 72 hours (usually much sooner). At the end of the 12-week program, we'll have a 1-hour phone/video consult to review your training results. Your plan will not change during the 12 weeks, unless you make adjustments based on general guidance I'll provide you at the start of your plan. All this is yours for a $265 1-time payment.

BRONZE COACHING PACKAGE

You're motivated to succeed at your goals, but a little along-the-way conversation, insight, and plan adjustment will make all the difference in your success. We'll start with a 2-hour phone/video consult to talk through what you want to accomplish. I'll build a plan to help you get there, and you'll access it on your included TrainingPeaks Premium account. This plan includes supplemental weight training. Initiate conversation with me via email or text, and I'll respond within 24 hours (normally sooner). We'll check-in via phone/video each month, for 60 minutes each time. After each check-in, I'll update your plan to account for "life happening" and training progress. At the end of the 12-week program, we'll have a 1-hour phone/video consult to review your training results. You can buy this plan in 3-month increments  (start any month); when you buy 12 months, you'll receive 2 additional free months.

SILVER COACHING PACKAGE

You're motivated to prepare for a great year, and you really enjoy bi-weekly engagement with a coach. We'll start with a 2-hour phone/video consult to talk through what you want to accomplish. I'll build a plan to help you get there, and you'll access it on your included TrainingPeaks Premium account. Initiate conversation with me via email or text, and I'll respond within 24 hours (normally sooner). We'll check-in via phone/video twice a month, for 45 minutes each time. After each check-in, I'll update your plan to account for "life happening" and training progress. At the end of the 12-week program, we'll have a 1-hour phone/video consult to review your training results. This service level includes a customized race/event plan, with course analysis, pacing, hydration, and nutrition guidelines. It also includes supplemental weight training. You can buy this plan in 3-month increments  (start any month); when you buy 12 months, you'll receive 2 additional free months.

GOLD COACHING PACKAGE

You're highly motivated, you want to excel in one or more specific events, and you really enjoy weekly engagement with a coach. We'll start with a 2-hour phone/video consult to talk through what you want to accomplish. I'll then build an annual plan to help you get there, and you'll access it on your included TrainingPeaks Premium account. Initiate conversation with me via email or text, and I'll respond within 12 hours (normally sooner). We'll check-in via phone/video each week, for 60 minutes each time. After each check-in, I'll update your plan to account for "life happening" and training progress.  At the end of your program, we'll have a 1-hour phone/video consult to review your training results. This plan includes a customized race/event plan, with course analysis, pacing, hydration, and nutrition guidelines. It also includes supplemental weight training.
